Tree and shrub planting

Mix Terix Biochar through the planting hole soil at the rate of approximately 10% of volume.

For 50mm tubestock: 125ml (half a cup)

For 140mm pots: 500ml (2 cups)

For 200mm pots: 1.5L

New unplanted garden beds

Incorporate Terix Biochar at the rate of 2-3L per sq m, incorporate to 100 to 150mm (4”-6”) depth.

Existing planted garden beds 

Where possible, incorporate at rate of 1L per sq m to 50mm (2”) depth.

Potted and containerised plants

Mix Terix Biochar at the rate of approximately 10% of volume of growing media. For example:

For 125mm pots: 100ml

For 140mm pots: 150ml

For 200mm pots: 450ml

For 300mm pots: 1.5L

For 400mm pots: 2.5L

For 500mm pots: 5.0L

Planting Tip 1

Prior to planting, pre-wet Terix Biochar until water stops being absorbed. As a guide, about 200ml to 300ml of water should be added to each litre of biochar. This fills the biochar with plant available water.

Planting Tip 2

Ensure Terix Biochar is evenly distributed in the mix of soil or potting mix. This encourages roots to grow evenly as they seek the water held in the biochar.
